Norvell starts by using Eco-Certified Dihydroxyacetone, or DHA. It’s the active ingredient found in most sunless tanning products, and it’s naturally derived from plants like beets or sugarcane. DHA is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for external application to the skin. The FDA recommends protective measures to make sure you don’t inhale, ingest, or get the spray in your eyes.
