The Resiliency of Planet Beach

Life is full of unexpected occurrences, from daily challenges to life altering tragic events such as a death of a loved one or a serious illness. In a recently published article, psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress, such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or workplace and financial stressors. As much as resilience involves “bouncing back” from these difficult experiences, it can also involve profound personal growth.

Resiliency and the ability to never give up is the most important trait that an individual can possess.  To prevail and overcome, you must embrace optimism, face obstacles head on and most importantly never raise the white flag.  Determination and sheer drive will distinguish those that will rise above when faced with challenges.

Overcoming adversity is nothing new to Planet Beach, which is a New Orleans based company.  In 2005, the company continued operations to support their franchise locations and members amid America’s worst national disaster, Hurricane Katrina.  Only one week following the wrath of the Hurricane, Planet Beach resumed operations at a satellite office in Houma, La.  Though Hurricane Katrina brought with it fierce winds and rains that washed away entire communities, it could not shake the perpetual spirit of Planet Beach.  In one catastrophic week, the company was pushed to the edge and pulled itself back. The people of the organization experienced the emotions of fear and loss, but amazingly demonstrated teamwork and focus.  They continued to focus on the job at hand under the most trying circumstances.

As Planet Beach continues to navigate through the COVID-19 outbreak, our franchise locations will continue to provide superior customer service.  The safety of our employees, members and their families will remain the number one priority.  Please look to your government officials for guidance during this trying time and know that Planet Beach will be there in the end to provide the rejuvenating services that help our members overcome their stresses and promote personal growth & healing.
