As a customer, feeling important is important. Our perception is reality and it makes us feel special when others go out of their way to make us feel thought of and appreciated. Two years ago, I visited a Lexus dealership and fell in love with my new car. They say to provide great customer service; you must do something unexpected for your customers. On my Birthday, my car sales representative from Lexus called to wish me a Happy Birthday. He could have easily texted or sent a card, but he went the extra mile and made a personal phone call, which was completely unexpected. I’m sure this is part of his daily repertoire and contacts all his customers as a marketing tactic, but it made me feel special regardless and I appreciated the gesture. Although the Lexus brand speaks for itself with its superior quality and reliability, their customer service is superior. In addition to their amazing vehicles and the homemade cookies offered in their waiting area, their ability to make their customers feel special is a big win for the Lexus brand.
