The Aftermath
GeneralI have had many people ask me “how can you live in an area that is so prone to natural disasters?” I always have the same response…”I love the people.” The Louisiana culture is like no other. The food is great the music is unique and the people are warm, colorful and tough as nails. When there are people in need, Louisiana communities pull together and help each other out. We view our neighbors and co-workers as our extended family and love them with all of our hearts. I have lived in the New Orleans area my entire life and I couldn’t be more proud of my city and state.
Louisiana’s latest devastation in the Baton Rouge area, touched everyone on our corporate team. We pulled together and used one of our offices as a drop off for donations. The outcome is heart warming to say the least.
There are so many stories of local heroes pulling people and animals from their flooded homes that I personally want to say THANK YOU. There is one story of a local hero that I would like to share….a Planet Beach team member’s fiance, decided to buy a boat and drive up to the Baton Rouge area where he spent 4 days on a rescue mission. In that time he pulled a dozen people from the flood waters. Thank you Ernie!
We also want to ask that you keep the Normand family in your thoughts and prayers. They are part of the Planet Beach team in the Baton Rouge area and have been devastated by the recent events.
There are still people and animals of all ages that are left without necessities. Please find it in your heart to donate. Below is a link that includes different organizations.
