2021 HOTWORX & Planet Beach Guest Speaker Announcement – Amy Gordon
ConventionThe HOTWORX & Planet Beach Convention will commence in less than three months, and after hosting the event virtually last year amid the COVID pandemic, the multi brand franchise is eager to host the event live this summer in the Hill Country of San Antonio, TX. In previous blog posts, we announced professional surfer, author & motivational speaker, Bethany Hamilton, and award-winning singer, song writer and entertainer, Rachel Bradshaw as guest speakers. If you didn’t think the speaker line up could get any hotter, well think again! We are excited to add actor, singer, writer and comedian, Amy Gordon, to the mix.
Amy was chosen to narrate the audio version of HOT EXERCISE, authored by HOTWORX CEO, Stephen P. Smith. He stated the following in a previous blog post about his search for the right voice to bring the audio version of his book alive, “When I was searching for the right narrator, I received numerous sample readings of the book from various actors/narrators and I listened to as many as I could. There was a voice from one narrator that I kept going back to because it kept me engaged with such an eloquent command of the English language. The voice was that of Amy Gordon, a very talented actor/comedian/singer. Born in Seattle and based in New York, Amy has worked worldwide with performances on Broadway, the Sydney Opera House, Kennedy Center, Just for Laughs, and not to mention appearances in numerous movies.
In addition to the incredible bio as a successful performing artist, she is a huge fan of fitness and happens to be incredibly fit. She was the perfect choice to be the voice for HOT EXERCISE.”
An actor, singer, writer and comedian for 21 years, Amy Gordon has worked all over the world, performing her full length solo shows and comedy acts in over 45 countries and 5 different languages. She’s played Broadway, The Kennedy Center, The Sydney Opera House and London’s West End, where she received an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. She has recently written, produced and starred in her sitcom TV Pilot called Big Time, about a middle-aged woman running away from the circus, which has won numerous awards at film festivals nationally and internationally. As an actor, she can be seen in Tyler Perry’s A Fall From Grace, CBS’ Bull, and comedian Earthquake’s International Boss, among others. She was the first female solo comedian to lead NYC’s famous Big Apple Circus in their 2019-20 Lincoln Center season. She also records audiobooks, including Naomi Wolf’s Outrages and Stephen Smith’s Hot Exercise.
