Offering an incentive when establishing a goal generates excitement, motivation and team camaraderie. Often employees are likely to increase their commitment and overall performance to ensure goal accomplishment when they are offered a reward that motivates them.
A study sponsored by the International Society for Performance Improvement determined that an incentive program can “boost performance by 25 to 44%.”
Planet Beach & HOTWORX Franchising fosters an environment of increased productivity through incentive based goals. This work hard, play hard mantra has been adopted by the franchisees of this multi-brand organization. The reward and recognition strategy is used to achieve peak performance and increase revenue at the unit level.
There are two trips per year organized for the franchisees and their top performers. They are encouraged to opt in by setting goals for their team that are both aggressive and attainable. During our last Convention, we promoted a “Get on the Ship” incentive program where participants were invited to opt in, determine their goals and then set sail from New Orleans to Cozumel on the Carnival Triumph.
You’ll be amazed by the increased enthusiasm and performance of your team when you provide them with an incentive. Whether it’s cash, a vacation or simply a paid day off, find out what motivates and reward based on goal accomplishment. I’ve often heard in business, that you are only as good as what you did yesterday. Meaning, every day should be a new start with the goal of accomplishing new things. Although this is true, always take the time to celebrate life’s successes. When a goal is met, no matter how large or small, take the time needed to recognize and celebrate.
