Ways to Win in 2019

Paving the way to success in the impending year requires a lot of preparation. Most of your time will be spent reviewing the previous year’s accomplishments and forecasting for the upcoming year.  Remember that the new year is a new start and an opportunity to make the necessary improvements to win in business.  The transition to the new year will take focus, dedication and strategic planning.  Below are three key strategies to help you hit the ground running and win in 2019.

  1. Have a Plan! George Patton said “A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week.”  Bearing that in mind, make sure you have a plan and establish your goals.  Reduce your goals to writing and remember that you must start somewhere.  It’s completely normal to make the necessary strategic adjustments throughout the year, however let the clearly defined goals govern your outcome.  Don’t let the ball drop on midnight New Year’s Eve without having an imperfect, but clear set of objectives.
  2. Communicate the Plan! “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”-George Shaw.  This statement is so profound, that I’ll leave the latter simple stated. When it comes to the company objectives and goals, use all forms of communication to clearly communicate them.
  3. Teamwork makes the dream work!  James Penney said “growth is never mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.”  Once the goals are established and clearly communicated, they must be executed.  I strongly suggest assessing your team members to ensure that you have the right players in the appropriate roles and that they are crystal clear on their roles and responsibilities.  Bear in mind that an employee with the absence of a clear set of objectives and proper training will diminish that person’s overall effectiveness. Don’t let there be a cog in the wheel.  Set your employees up for success and ensure your company runs like a well-oiled machine.

In summary, ensure that you have a clear plan for 2019, over communicate the plan and assess your teammates to make sure they have the direction needed to succeed.  At Planet Beach, we are already establishing new goals to ensure company growth in 2019.  The company goals will drive our team to set deadlines and work collaboratively to ensure that we continue to change the way the world rejuvenates in every viable community across the globe.
