Company NewsPlanet Beach welcomes new Franchisees, Shane Dove, Genita Dove, and Jayme McCall, who recently took over the spa located in Lubbock, Texas!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Shane & Genita: We currently own Paint Doctor, Dove Real Estate, Cab Real Estate, and Mr. Magic Detailing Services. We have been members for 15 years and my sister in law started working at Planet Beach when she was in college. Jenni Burns is not only been a friend, but also a great owner of Planet Beach. She approached us about buying and we prayed about it and God opened all the doors.
Jayme: I have other businesses that I own and I always enjoy motivating and leading people. I saw a great opportunity with Planet Beach to do the same in Lubbock.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Shane & Genita: Franchising seems like the natural step in our business ventures.
Jayme: Planet Beach was an already successful franchise in Lubbock and I saw the opportunity to hopefully make it even better.
What was your initial impression of your first spa session at Planet Beach?
Shane & Genita: Our first impression of the spa session is that Planet Beach has all the steps in place to succeed.
Jayme: I thought it was very clean, staff was super friendly, and there were a lot of options to choose from.
How was your experience going through the Planet Beach Discovery Process?
Shane & Genita: The Planet Beach Discovery Process was very professional and informative.
Jayme: It was great. Kayla was really friendly and knowledgeable.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the Planet Beach Executive Team?
Shane & Genita: The Planet Beach Executive Team was great to work with. Everyone is very knowledgeable of each department they oversee. We also liked hearing that most corporate employees have worked their way up in the Planet Beach business.
Jayme: It was great seeing all the upper management and the owner on Orientation Day. You can tell very quickly that everyone believes in what they’re doing and I liked the fact that most, if not all, have been with the company for years. Starting from the bottom, to owning a store to now being a part of corporate. It was really exciting to see that growth.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with Planet Beach?
Shane & Genita: The advice I would pass on is to get ready to succeed. This is a proved system. All you have to do is follow the lead and be passionate about the Planet Beach brand.
Jayme: Just take the time to meet upper management. Their energy will excite you and honestly they give you the feeling that if you ever really did need to reach out to one of them, they would be there for you no doubt about it.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with Planet Beach?

2. I was a Planet Beach customer so I knew what I was getting.
3. It was already established in the community and was in a great location. This location has a ton of potential to be one of the best in the whole company!
What excites you the most in offering Planet Beach’s automated spa services to your community?
Shane & Genita: We are locally owned business owners and excited to have Planet Beach as a Lubbock staple as well.
Jayme: Since I was a customer for several years, I know what I was getting as a consumer. You’re going to get great service, a nice location with updated beds, flooring, lights, etc. You’re also going to get the HOTWORX benefits of it if you choose to have that on your membership. It’s a one stop shop for a ton of your spa needs.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a Planet Beach franchisee?
Shane & Genita: We plan to increase membership and product sales, while also looking to expand the number of HOTWORX saunas available.
Jayme: The Lubbock location has been a top EFT performer over the last couple of years, but now I want to be one of the top in the merchant sales category. I’d like to be in the top 5 in both.
How will Planet Beach help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Shane & Genita: Professionally, we are all about the business and making the employees excited about all of the money they can earn while falling in love with the Planet Beach brand. Personally, we are excited about the opportunity to develop our personal health and wellness, not only through the spa products but HOTWORX as well.
Jayme: I think just being able to lean on the people who’ve been doing this a long time and learning from their mistakes and/or successes. Everyone is so open to helping and they truly want the best for our location and you can tell it in their voice and in their actions.
