September is National Self-Improvement Month and Planet Beach is offering many ways to improve your health and beauty. We all know that improving your health and getting on a workout regime can make you look and feel better.  Also, giving yourself the gift of spa to relax, glow, and renew can increase your self-esteem, because when you look good and feel good you are more confident in everything you do.

There is also the “internal” self-improvement issues that we can’t ignore. Just remember that being kind and generous is not only beneficial to other’s but it is also beneficial to you. One could say, “ kindness makes you happy and happiness makes you kind.”

Kindness may have a longer, even more profound effect on our happiness, according to a study, published online in the Journal of Happiness Studies, conducted by researchers at Harvard Business School and the University of British Columbia.  Also keep in mind that kindness is contagious. When people see acts of kindness, it prompts them to want to be kind themselves.

There are those individuals that seem to just be more compassionate by nature. Then there are those that need to make a conscious decision to do something for the good of man. If you are one of those, try to incorporate a few minutes a day where you ask someone “what can I do for you?” After doing this for a while it becomes a habit and part of your lifestyle. I learned this from Ratinjit Sondhe, an inspirational speaker, author, and friend of Planet Beach.

Just keep in mind that we are all in this together. We all inhabit this planet and need to be aware of others as well as ourselves.  There is good in everyone and that’s what we need to focus on and embrace.
