A little friendly competition can certainly motivate a large group to achieve a common goal. Planet Beach’s work hard, play hard atmosphere has fostered several friendly competitions over the years.  A recent challenge from our Spa Performance team has lead to some friendly competition among Planet Beach spray & spa locations. The spas are outdoing each other in the hopes of being selected as the Planet Beach location with the best holiday decorations.

Awesomeness in a Tree
It all started with a very creative holiday decoration idea at the Planet Beach spray & spa in Luling, LA.  Jec, the Spa Director, built a Christmas tree using our purple “awesomeness in a box” gift boxes to display in the spa’s lobby.  The members at this Planet Beach location loved the tree!  The picture Jec shared on Facebook instantly received lots of likes and comments from the Planet Beach franchise community.

Earlier this month, Planet Beach’s Spa Performance team, dressed in holiday attire and accessories, hosted a Facebook live video for our franchise community.  They built a Planet Beach tree of their own and encouraged others to decorate the lobby of their spa with a box tree, just as the Luling location did.  A comment from the Planet Beach in Deer Park, IL sparked the friendly competition: “Box tree challenge accepted!”

Since then, many Planet Beach spray & spa locations across the country have risen to the tree challenge.  We’re not even halfway through the month of December and our newsfeeds have been filled with pictures from several spas that added a unique touch to Jec’s box tree idea.  Congrats to Planet Beach in Pearland, TX for winning the challenge with the best spaliday decorations!

With this one example, you can see how some friendly competition brings out the best in all of us.  I have a feeling this may become an annual tradition for Planet Beach!
